The Plastic Crisis

300 million tons of plastic is being produced every year. A lot of that plastic is necessary to make useful things that last.

But all too often, the plastic we use ends up in the wrong place, like rivers, lakes, and oceans.

Right now, our oceans are filling up with plastics that degrade into smaller pieces of microplastics. These tiny fragments are ingested by plankton, which play a key role in the food chain, and thus, our entire ecosystem. If nothing changes, by 2050there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans.

Our oceans need a new wave of sustainable solutions. And – just as it’s always been – that change is being driven by people.

Until now, there have not been any viable alternatives to plastic. Until now, consumers did not have much choice. The time has come to make a choice and take action before it's too late.

Alpine Shrine Skincare is doing its best to pave the way towards a plastic-free future. The only question is, what are you doing to help?
